HHS All-Payer, All-Claims Database to Support Comparative Effectiveness Research
bulletin posted on 1261458000

The Department of Health and Human Services has recently posted a request for bids to create an all-claims database from all payers.  Currently HHS is restricted to data arising from the CMS Integrated Data Repository and Chronic Conditions Warehouse and the Medicaid claims files to analyze CER opportunities.  HHS hopes to expand the information available to it through the creation of a state based all-payer, all-claims database.  The contract awarded will be for a targeted design to create the database and to provide supporting services, methods and skills.

The project will be funded with money provided through the CER initiative and the data will be used in furtherance of CER analysis for all patients, and no longer be restricted to the priorities established by the Medicare and Medicaid populations.  (Solicitation Number:  10-233-SOL-00039; available at:  https://www.fbo.gov/?s=opportunity&mode=form&id=71d119aea45a6f2efdc5862cac9cb6e2&tab=core&_cview=
